Final Front Cover Draft
The genre of my magazine is electronic music and the DJ lifestyle, I have represented electronic music as bright neon colours with a touch of metal elements. I chose the black background to make all the neon pop out more and look stronger so that it catches the readers attention, the prismatic colour choices represent the freedom of music in the DJ scene. Neon lights have the connotations of night life and the club scene, they are flashy and cool to look at attracting customers much like bees to a flower. The audience for my magazine is aimed at students and young people who make enough money to blow it all on a Friday night at the club, aged specifically 18 to 30 year olds that are in love with the electronic scene who go to many DJing events. I want my audience to be able to read my magazine and know exactly what is going on in the electronic scene, they would be able to pick my magazine up and educate themselves about the genre but also see the different sub genres. Purposely I have the magazine £2.50 which is relatively cheap because the electronic scene is fairly non commercial so I want to push the boundaries of electronica making it more mainstream and accessible to the average person. My layout is pretty simplistic and clean with my main image front and centre and my title across the top so that when it is displayed in a magazine stand the audience will be able to easily pick it out from the unique font and colour scheme. My cover-lines are a bright orange because the colour orange has connotations of happiness and fascination which will entice the reader to want to read them, also in my colour scheme orange is not present so it stands out above the prismatic border.
Reflection: Overall I am happy with my front cover and the text i have produced however I still need to make smaller improvements to make it perfect.

Reflection: Overall I am happy with my front cover and the text i have produced however I still need to make smaller improvements to make it perfect.
Ways forward:
- Resize coverlines to be inside of the neon border
- Resize the issue number plus make it horizontal so it will not interfere with the design
- Resize barcode
- Develop a tagline/slogan for my magazine brand then experiment with composition
