In the V magazine cover Britney spears is represented as seductive and sultry, the mise-en-scene assists in constructing these representations. For example she is sitting on a sofa wearing black lingerie posing seductively like she is tempting the audience to look at her, this is re-enforced by her dark smokey makeup. The shot of the picture is slightly from an angle above which she is looking directly into, the v has been placed so its directly in the centre with her inside it making her the main image. The lighting caresses the side of her her face at the top of the picture which contrasts against the shadows at the bottom of the picture. This can be seen as innocents and purity where her face is in the light but her lingerie is in the shadows showing impurity and mystery.
