What kind of media institution might distribute your magazine and why?

Grave's parent company would have to be Time Inc. due to the fact they own a plethora of different genre magazines ranging from music to travel. Choosing this company is the best option to launch my magazine because "Time Inc. is one of the world's most influential media companies - home to 100 iconic brands" which would allow my magazine to be tied with this iconic name pushing it forward into mainstream, as well as the legendary brand name Time Inc. has a strong digital presence which include more than "60 websites reaching 150+ million monthly digital visitors, 2 billion video views, and a social footprint of 200+ million through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Google+ and YouTube". This would catapult my magazine into social media so that it able to have a stronger online presence which is the most important factor in keeping a current music magazine relevant in the 21st century.
An example of this is NME, Time Inc. distributes this magazine for free on fridays exposing the public to the latest in pop music news. However NME only seems to represent the music industies mainstream side this is why I think the addition of my magazine would add more representation toTime Inc. where they are seriously lacking.

NME has a more minimalist approach to their front covers whereas my magazine is a lot more avant garde with more coverlines on the front cover, this would be easier for the audience to see what the magazine has inside so that they are more likely to pick it up and buy it due to the catching coverlines. Additionally a more alternative audience will be introduced to this magazine which will in turn create more money for Time Inc. with this logic it would be in their best interest to buy Grave.

Editors Letter Analysis 2

The editor starts her letter with a description of what she wants to achieve in life one of them being "learning how to play the banjo" showing her more personal side with what she is currently doing with her life, so the audience feels a connection of that she is more than just the editor of a magazine. She has aspirations and goals like everybody else. This comes across very relaxed and easy-going letting the reader digest the information easily. She is also showing the reader that they should set their own goals, she has used her own as an example to encourage them to pursue their own goals. Towards the end she gives advice by saying goals should be 'practised daily' and throughout the year so it takes the pressure of doing it as soon as possible She uses colloquial language to round off the end of the letter with "Cheers!" which is often spoken allowed rather than written down, thus adding a light hearted sense of humour to a somewhat serious topic....
