What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
To create my magazine I used a varity of tools from online to hand drawn to achieve my final product, I hand drew my main image on paper which I then took into photoshop where I was able to change the contrast and exposure so that it looked more like it was created digitally, I cut the outline of the image so that is was transparent making it easier to add on top of my photoshop layers. Using a pleathora of online resources such as Google images for a template, an online font generator for the title and a random ISPN code from Google images as well to create the barebones of my magazine. I was able to use Photoshop to create everything else on the magazine such as all the text, the neon borders and textured background. Photoshop is the best editing software for creating images so I felt it was the best choice to create my entire magazine piecing it together much like a puzzle. I was able to add smaller details to the magazine with Photoshop such as the softness as the neon borders diffuse this is what makes Photoshop a good editing software because you are able to add finer details to make an image perfect. This is why the magazine industry uses it for their images on the magazine and the final production of it overall, the advances in technology have led to the magazine industry being able to create a product in a short amount of time and produce it in large quanities so they can profit off the sales. In our technigolical world magazines have become more and more interactive with social media handles riddled throughout articles and the latest being QR codes which you are able to scan with a phone and the phone will come up with their website or social media.
Through the process of creating a magazine I was able to gain a lot more skills about Photoshop and how to use it, an example of this is layering. Previously I did not know what having layers on an image was but now I know that having layers makes image editing a lot easier being able to add effects above the main image without altering it is helpful when you are in the process of creating a magazine where you have to layer each coverline and title so that you can go back and change them later on. Through this process I also learnt how to edit an image via the 'Image' tab in the upper left corner where you are able to adjust the settings of the picture such as brightness and contrast, saturation and curves.
