Editors Letter Analysis 1

This magazine starts right away with a question about how you perceive yourself in the mirror making the reader start off already thinking, "does your brain send an automatically generated negative response when you're in front of the mirror?", this immediately gets the reader to think similarly to a topic sentence. This also entices the reader to read on and get to the know the editor on a personal level so that the magazine is more personal and they feel like they can keep buying new issues each time.
She then states about her personal life going in detail about "working in a female dominated fashion focused industry can get a little intense" this makes the editor come across down to earth and realistic which is often hard to find when reading magazines since people tend to lie, this makes the audience relate to her even more because she is not afraid to tell it like it is.
In the last paragraph she starts asking questions like "what do you think?" which builds this friendly relationship together as it sounds she wants to hear what you have to say.
Having her picture displayed right next to her writing gives the reader a face to put to the writing, giving a stronger connection between the two.

Planning: from analysing this letter I see that a personal route adds a special touch of personality which is gripping for the audience to read.
