Front Cover Draft 1

The genre of my magazine is metal which is being aimed toward younger fans aged between 16-25 who are interested in metal music and want to find out about the latest bands that are touring near them but also exclusive interviews with them. The main narrative of my magazine is to live without fear projecting a positive and accepting message to young fans so they can aspire to be whatever they want, I feel the music also represents rebellion so that young people feel like they don't have to fit a certain mold of what society expects. The lifestyle show will be very real and raw for a band with all the details about what bands get up to whilst on tour and creating new music.

I chose the title Grave because it is a musical reference to music that is played slow and seriously but also playing off the fact of a graveyard with goth influences. I want my colour scheme to be dark but have the titles be a neon colour to appeal to a younger audience showing them that metal music isn't always about being goth and dark, the neons will stand out against the black background making it more inviting. I wanted the main image to be in the centre to grab the readers attention with the cover lines beside it framing it so that the eye goes from the picture to the cover lines. The title is at the top since when the magazine is being sold the title is easy to see and find, I'm planning to also make the title neon so it stands out even more. With this draft I wanted to achieve just a basic feel of what the magazine would look like with just the bare minimum so that later on I can change things around and improve them.
